“She Is Love” was written for my sweet mama before she passed away and I ended up singing it along with two of my siblings at her funeral. I wanted something joyful that felt like her since she brought so much joy to so many others with her optimism, her spunk and her genuine love that she had for so many. While this song is about my amazing mother, I hope all listeners can hear their own mom’s in the words and feeling of it. I think I’ve come to appreciate my mom and all she did even more through my imperfect attempts to love my own children. No mother is perfect but the very fact that they keep showing up every day and trying and loving is amazing and means the world.
